Requirements

 

Essential Functions:    Not all inclusive, other duties may be assigned

  • Performs all duties related to installation as well as performs upgrades, downgrades, pre-wiring and multiple dwelling installations.

  • Installs drops, outlets, converters, and other cable system devices in homes of subscribers.

  • Solves technical problems with customers and technicians through effective verbal communication.

  • Maintain assigned equipment, tools and vehicle in good operating condition.

  • Practices and enforces safety rules and procedures at all times.

  • Performs on-call duties, during non-business hours, in the event he/she is called.

  • Sells additional services and/or products to subscribers.

  • Provide QUALITY customer service.

  • Follow all company policies and procedures.

  • Able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.

  • Able to VERBALLY communicate well with others.

 

Ability:

Able to (with training) climb heights and work up to 32' off the ground on a utility pole and carry ladders.

 

Able to carry heavy equipment safely, work outdoors in all types of weather, safely drive, lift and carry equipment.

Able to follow established company policies and procedures.

Able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and work independently; organize material, tools and equipment.

Able to communicate effectively; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public and co-workers.

Language Skills:

Able to read, write and interpret documents such as work orders, road map, map book, internet mapping programs, safety rules, employee handbook and policy and procedure manuals or memorandums.

 

Able to read a road map.

 

Ability to clearly and efficiently speak English.

 

Mathematical Skills:

Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Requirements, Registrations:

  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

  • Must have and maintain a Valid Oregon or Washington State Drivers License.

  • Must have and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving Record in accordance to company requirements.

  • Must have and maintain an acceptable Criminal Background Record in accordance to company requirements.

  • Able to successfully complete all required training, and able to successfully pass any written training test.
